It’s time to get your skin ready to look its best for the sunny season.
Dr Spiezia has a few tips for you to ‘awaken’ the skin ready for the summer
One of the problems, after a long winter where we are constantly covered by layers of clothing, is that the skin can lose tone and appear flabby and weak.
This is partly due to the cold: the blood vessels nearest the surface shrink, resulting in a lack of blood supply and nutrients - this impairs the production of elastin and connective tissue.
Moreover, in winter we tend to eat more fats and carbohydrates and fewer vegetables, reducing our intake of vitamins and anti-oxidants.
So, to combat this, here are a few steps to tone and awaken the skin ready for summer: -
1) Temperature is key! try and set the temperature to 36-7°C when in the shower. Massage the skin quite firmly with a loofah glove to activate the epidermal circulation and naturally remove dead cells. Reduce the water temperature now to make it fresh and stimulating.
2)Don’t stay in the shower more than 10-15 minutes to avoid damaging the hydrolipidic layer of the skin.
3)Dry your skin with a towel and massage in Inlight Organic Firm & Tone Oil, rich in Vitamin E and a fusion of toning botanicals, that will sink into your skin making it feel instantly tight and revitalized. Firmly massage the oil towards the lymphatic system to move any residual toxins trapped in the dermis.
4)Use Inlight Organic Body Oil with Arnica, To support fragile vessels and skin that bruises easily, which has provides a dual tightening and therapeutic effect, with a comforting, relaxing fragrance.
5) Remember to include Vitamin C in your daily diet, if possible by eating lots of fresh food, or take Vitamin C with bio-flavonoids as a supplement together with a Silica and Vitamin B complex.
My priority is the health and well-being of my patients and customers. My holistic approach to organic skincare reflects my observation of how the way you look and feel plays a big role.
Wishing you a happy, sunny time
