Horsetail

Horsetail is a very special plant descending from a family of plants from the paleozoic era (over 400 million years ago). This is why, in my opinion, it harbours the old “memory” of the origin of our Planet. Its Latin name is equisetum arvense, deriving from equus (horse) and seta (bristle) and in England there are 25 different species.

Horsetail contains silicon, a crystalline structured mineral that creates stability: Traditionally, it has been used to strengthen bones (for fractures or osteoporosis). It also has powerful mineralising properties, and is therefore an excellent choice for anyone suffering from anaemia or mineral deficiency. It is also astringent, coagulant, diuretic, vulnerary (external wound healing), haemostatic, and mineralising.

Silicon is present in our bodies, particularly in our tendons, skin, and aorta. It speeds up the healing process and reduces the ageing process. Silicon also improves skin elasticity, and strengthens our nails: it is for these reasons that Silicon is an ingredient in Inlight Organic Line Softener, Organic Restorative Body Butter, and Organic Nyp Balm.
