Although it has bloomed quite late this year, the Meadowsweet in the Cornish countryside is as beautiful as ever. It is also referred to as Queen of the Meadow, and rightly so, in my opinion.
It has a lovely, strong and sweet scent, and was used in the past to cover the floor of churches for weddings and to make bridal garlands: Another of its many names is Bridalwort. Queen Elizabeth I used meadowsweet to create a pleasant aroma in her chambers, and it was also often used to flavour mead. It is said to be one of the three herbs considered as sacred by the ancient Druids.
Meadowsweet contains one of the most beneficial herbs for helping to treat cellulite (Partourier), and has vulnerary properties.
I use it in the Inlight Firm & Tone Oil to help tighten the skin. In massaging the oil into your skin, the water (lymph) trapped in the derma layer will be redirected to your lymphatic system and drained out through the kidneys.
