I have always been fascinated by love. By studying and researching the connections between our inner and outer bodies, I’ve discovered that the very first moment of love and intimacy goes back to when a mother starts touching, stroking and cuddling her baby.
Through her hands the mother passes on her love, energy, and gratitude. Hands are essential tools, and in this instance, the skin and its sense of touch will be the medium through which two bodies connect. The brain and the skin belong to the same embryonic layer (the layer of embryonic cells that develop the baby’s body in the womb) and starting from the very beginning of life they will be closely linked forever.
In touching, the two skins become “one” for few seconds and all the 25 nerve endings per square centimetre we have on our skin transfer feelings at high speed to the brain.
The brain then registers and stores feelings of protection, security and envelopment, and will file them in the positive memories “category” from then on. As a result, every time we are touched or massaged, the brain automatically and unconsciously calls upon this warm feeling, and releases endorphins - hormones of happiness. We consequently feel relaxed and shed the self-preservation shield we usually use to survive on this planet.
In a similar way, but using different connections and parts of the brain, the skin sends out intense and specific messages when we make love.
Our skin definitely plays a key role in the communication between our external and internal world, mediating vital reactions that can improve our lives and self-confidence.
Love is to be celebrated and I am sure you agree that our skin is a precious gift and much more than an outfit.
Keeping your skin clean, healthy, silky and young will improve the communication between your inside and out, and ultimately improve your quality of life.
Ask your Valentine to massage you more often, this will not only be good for your skin but for your relationship too! Use pure organic oils, as they are excellent carriers for complimentary ingredients, and choose those with gentle but invigorating fragrances: let yourself go!
Within my range of products I would firstly recommend INLIGHT Organic Body Oil with Arnica for its antioxidants and regenerative properties. Also consider, INLIGHT Organic Firm & Tone oil, which is intensely nourishing and stimulating, with a fresh scent of lemon and ginger.
Celebrating Love today and always.
