Another fascinating year has gone by and here is my suggestion for a resolution that will put your body right, after the holiday’s “indulgence”…
Don’t you find that when you are most relaxed, comforted by the company of your friends and family and freeing your mind you tend to indulge more with eating and drinking?
Our body, when relaxed, can take more in, but once the holiday is over… we are left with a few more pounds (if we are lucky) and that sluggish, bloated feeling. Not to worry though. It doesn’t take long to get back to normal with a few little tricks to cleanse the liver and lose some weight.
When we feel the body and the brain are a bit “slow” to get into gear, we tend to drink more coffee to get the boost, but this is a mistake, as we put the adrenals under stress and create more toxicity. What we are doing is using binoculars to see better through the window when it would be much easier to just clean the glasses…
So here are 7 simple steps to lighten up your brain and cleanse your body over 7 days:
1- Gradually reduce coffee (if you suddenly stop will get headaches) and start drinking warm water with a few drops of lemon juice instead.
2- Twice a day have a mug of herbal tea such as nettle, camomile, burdock or ginger. It tastes good and is highly detoxing.
3- Stay away from animal proteins, including dairy products, for the week.
4- Start your breakfast with a fresh carrot and apple juice with a slice of fresh ginger.
5- Start both lunch and dinner with a large bowl of fresh mixed salad, dressed with lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.
6- Dine with vegetable soups and add plenty of culinary herbs such as marjoram, thyme, ginger, turmeric and a dribble of rice bran oil. Favour gluten-free grains such as brown rice, quinoa, and millet.
7- After lunch and dinner drink half a glass of water with 35 drops of dandelion, milk thistle & burdock herbal tincture mix.
